Not really. I’m heading to Fort Drum Army Base in northern New York- 30 minutes south of Canada
But I feel like s kid going to Disneyland!- well that’s probably a stretch too. But I am excited!
I am excited because for the next 5 days..
I will be staying with my best friend whose husband is stationed at Fort Drum.
I get to hang out with one of my top 3 favorite people.
I know I will laugh nonstop
I will get to get a glimpse into her life at this new base
We will get to sample craft beers and visit breweries together instead of sharing our reviews over the phone or text
We will head off to a local casino to play some blackjack together
I will get to be a piece of family/home for her and her kids while her husband is in Afghanistan
I will feel like a kid for five days- no work, no responsibilities- just hanging out with one of the best people I know!
So I know it’s a stretch (or maybe sad 😂) calling it Disneyland but right now it kinda feels like it.
Oh this is awesome. I am really excited for you. You sum up all the great points for going on this trip and calling it Disneyland sounds right on the nose! In fact, most of that stuff is better/more important in so many ways than anything one could accomplish at any theme park. Thanks for letting us in and I bet your trip is going to be amazing!

No work and no responsibilities – other than bringing home lots of $$$ from the casino! Have a blast and enjoy the much-needed catch up time together!
